Definition of Snore
Due to aging, alcohol consumption, or most commonly excessive physical labor, the uvula and mucous membrane area around the soft palate become elongated while the person sleeps. When this happens, the upper respiratory tract is
restricted due to elongated membrane, and the air current rapidly speeds up through the passage way. As a result, the mucous membrane vibrates as air passes by, and thus, the sound of snoring is created.
